WHY I ILSC: LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST JEFFERY SHIELDS

Mr. Jeffery A. Shields was inspired to serve our country from an early age. Following in the footsteps of his father, who was active duty military for 24 years, Mr. Shields joined the Army in 1983, beginning his career at Fort Dix, NJ. Mr. Shields says that he never felt particularly pushed into the military by his father, who was also an Army recruiter, but that observing it from his vantage point still appealed to him and ultimately stirred him to enlist.

BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE WORKFORCE AT THE PUBLICATION SERVICES DIVISION

It is hardly a secret that training and development are key elements of the Publication Services Division’s (PSD) Center of Excellence strategy. Mental Health Awareness Day

On 31 May 2023, CECOM Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC) hosted its 2nd annual Mental Health Awareness Day at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). In light of the fact that mental health conditions affect nearly one in five adults in the United States and are closely tied to issues such as substance abuse and suicide attempts, this event was a timely way to raise awareness among the APG workforce about the significant role that mental health plays in the overall wellbeing of individuals.

FMS Industry Day

Once again, CECOM Security Assistance Management Directorate (SAMD) was able to generate a spirit of collaboration within the Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) community. On 21 and 22 March 2023, SAMD, in coordination with Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) and Office of Small Business Programs-Aberdeen Proving Ground (OSBP-APG), held their 3rd annual Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Industry Day, a tentpole event comprising two days that fosters an opportunity to support Security Cooperation and Security Assistance objectives by developing commercial markets and Defense Industrial Bases throughout the world. Under the FMS program, customers can depend on integrity and the standards set by the Department of Defense (DoD).
